Catalogue Note
Montreal's historic Mother House was founded in 1871 and was home to the Order of Sisters of Charity of Montreal (commonly known as the Grey Nuns). Mother House was designed by prominent Quebec architect Victor Bourgeau who in his lifetime also worked on such high profile projects as the church of Notre-Dame in Montreal. Sold in 2005, Mother House will soon become the new home of Concordia University's Faculty of Fine Arts.
