Good overall condition. A small folding at the left top. The reproduction is slighlty pinker than the painting.

Catalogue Note

Après une formation à l'Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Paris, Amadeo Preziosi s'installa dès 1842 à Constantinople et y passa le reste de sa vie. Inspiré par Daumier, il réalisa de nombreuses études de personnages, placés dans des lieux typiques de la capitale ottomane. Cette scène animée représentant trois hommes au turban saisis sur le vif de leur conversation et deux femmes voilées, fait partie de la série de dessins aquarellés qui firent son succès.
