Condition
Good condition overall with surface dust in the crevices.
The arms carved separately. As can be seen on the photograph, a few very fine hairline cracks across the body, one from his neck to the perizonium, and a few to his thighs.
Hands and feet in good condition.
Ivory finely carved and modelled, especially face and hair.
Can be recommended.

Catalogue Note
Elève de son cousin du même nom, Artus II Quellin devint maître à la guilde de Saint-Luc à Anvers en 1650. Il collabore de 1652 à 1654 à la décoration de l'Hôtel de ville d'Amsterdam. Parmi ses oeuvres les plus importantes, il faut mentionner la chaire à l'église Sainte-Walburge de Bruges (1667) et le maître d'autel à l'église du Saint Saveur d'Anvers.
