Condition
Illustration is quite accurate.
Overall condition is pretty fine. The piece of furniture has been well restorated few years ago.
Good quality of the marquetry, there is a chip to the veneer to the edge of the frieze.
The top of the cover on the inside compartment slightly torn.
The leather top with marks and scratches.
Very attractive piece in overall good condition, could also be used as a writting table.

Catalogue Note
The quality of the marquetry and the overall design, similar to that of the two-tier games-table in the Getty Museum (inv. 71.DA.105) with its sinuous skirt and absence of bronzes to the legs, are typical of furniture by Jean-François Œben.
