- Height (bronze) 10 in; total height 13 1/3 in
coiffé d'une couronne végétale et vêtu d'un pagne, il verse du vin dans une coupe tenue dans sa main droite ; son pied gauche est posé sur un tonneau ; sur un socle circulaire en marbre rouge

Condition
Minor surface dust in the crevisses, a few casting holes at several places, and one fixing hole to his back. Very good condition overall.

Catalogue Note
Oeuvre du sculpteur vénitien Nicolo Roccatagliata (1560-vers 1636), plusieurs versions de ce Bacchus sont connues, dont l'une au musée Klosterneuburg (cf. Weihrauch, op. cit), une autre version appartenait jadis à la collection Julius Goldschmidt (vente Sotheby's New York, 2006, lot 467), et une à la Henry Harris collection (cf. Avery, op. cit.).
