oval,  the lid inset with a Geneva enamel plaque painted with a girl clutching a lapdog, pearl frame, the ground, sides and hinged base enamelled in translucent blue over engine-turning within chased garland borders, French prestige marks including maker's mark NCQ crowned, charge mark of J. Alaterre and date letter P
