ovale, gravée et incrustée de fleurs et entrelacs de guirlande en or, montures et doublure de la bâte en or postérieures, le couvercle et le dessous avec poinçon de maître effacé, deuxième initiale B, poinçon de charge de J. Berthe et lettre-date.

Condition
The box has suffered losses to the mother of pearl panels: two on base (still extant), two very small sections at top of sides and three large (visible) at back of lid. There are also cracks to the mother of pearl in a number of places throughout, the lid and base mounts appear to be replacements as does the now crinkled side lining.
