la scène en ivoire représentant une bacchanale, Silène assis sur un tonneau et tenant une coupe dans la main gauche, un jeune faune à ses pieds, accompagné de deux femmes avec deux enfants, l'un jouant de la flûte de Pan, un faune et une femme allongée, una autre prenant un bain, sa servante à ses côtés, l'anse en double console ornée d'un buste de femme, l'appui-pouce bifide se terminant en deux têtes de léopards, le couvercle gravé d'un cartouche orné de rinceaux

Condition

The ivory with a crack from top to bottom around the faun and lying woman. Marked on footrim, neck and cover. A screw missing to the handle The ivory very nicely carved, the silver finely chased. One of the most famous Augsburg silversmiths. Very attractive piece.
