the lid chased with a mounted huntsman and eager hound, the base with a hound attacking a boar within similar scroll borders, the sides with small landscape vignettes alternating with beasts of the chase, the thumbpiece and reverse with shells and leaves, apparently unmarked

Although very much in Paris taste, this box is unmarked. It could therefore originate from a number of places, most notably England, Germany or Flanders.
