  • Recto: two female figures and a putto; verso: portrait of a standing man holding a hat
  • Red chalk (recto and verso) on paper toned light red (recto);
    bears attribution in pencil, verso: Giulio Romano, numbering in purple ink lower right, recto: 510 and old numberings in brown ink, verso: N2, and in pencil: n 26

Condition

Unframed. The edges of the sheet are uneven and there are some small losses to all but the upper right corner. A small tear to the left of the lower edge. There is a round spot stain at the centre of the left edge and some small, lighter spots in the upper centre. Otherwise the condition is fine and the chalk strong and fresh. The drawing is stronger and more red / less orange than appears in the catalogue illustration.
