There are several flecks of chipped paint in the upper left quadrant, one in the lower left quadrant, one in the upper right quadrant, and a small hole in the lower right quadrant. There is some craquelure in the upper left and lower right quadrants, although the surface is stable. There are some surface scratches to the lower edge. The canvas is slightly slack and undulates in the upper right corner. The edges of the work are worn, probably due to frame abrasion. Presented in a gilt, cream, wood and plaster frame. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals no evidence of retouching.
