Condition
The work is in its original condition with rich impasto throughout. Presented in a dark wood and plaster frame. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals no evidence of retouching.

Catalogue Note
In one of the three letters which accompany this lot, the artist states: 'I was up on Glyder Fawr, 3,200 feet up, on a dark threatening day, as in the picture, towards the end of last year. I like to put in the farmers as the mountains really belong to them and they have to earn their living with their sheep in all weathers'. (Private correspondance, dated 30.5.81).
