  • chased and engraved with Régence ornaments,  the mustard pot engraved with the arms of the family Herck of Flanders and with the initials I.H - V.H below, both inscribed below the base C.R

Condition

Maker's mark only, struck at the reverse of base. One maker's mark struck half. Overall in good condition, very small scratches from use.

Catalogue Note

Pieter Bartolomeï est né à Saint-Trond, en Belgique. Il fut probablement apprenti chez Francis Stijnen auquel il était apparenté par sa femme, Lucia Bastijns. Lorsqu'à son tour, il se maria, il cousina avec un certain nombre d'autres orfèvres. Il est surtout connu pour sa production d'orfèvrerie sacrée dont plusieurs objets peuvent être admirés dans les églises et au musée de Saint-Trond.
