Description
- with four tritons and four basins, surmounted by a large basin with four turtles

Condition
In overall good condition.
Marked with a partly legible mark within an esctucheon at some places which ressembles the Rome city mark, also stamped 800 on the foot rim.

Catalogue Note
La fontaine originale se trouve à Rome place Mattei. Elle fut réalisée d'après un projet de Giacomo Della Porta à la fin du XVI° siècle auquel le Bernin ajouta les tortues en 1658.
Cette fontaine a été faite pour être réellement utilisée avec de l'eau. Un tuyau interne permettrait de faire monter l'eau dans la vasque supérieure.
