Catalogue Note

The local environment figures prominently in the work of J.B. Blunk.  The woods selected for his furniture design were those indigenous to the Inverness, California area where he resided.  His ceramic works also demonstrate his close relationship with the region.  Blunk sourced his unique clay body from native muds of the Tomales Bay region and other local areas.
