Condition

Overall in very good original condition. This piece was a site specific design for Ezra Stoller's residence. It is intended for use in the corner, as the cabinet portion does not have a finished back. The cabinet with a locking mechanism and key , which open to reveal a single fixed shelf. The interior panels of the doors are fitted with storage to hold stem glasses. The edges of the cabinet and shelf which would be adjacent to the wall and the unfinished back with scattered areas of white paint. Some areas of the top of the shelf in the corner portion also with scattered white paint spots. With scattered minor surface scratches and nicks to the edges as expected with age and use. One drink ring to the top of the shelf and some very minor areas of discoloration.

Catalogue Note

Ezra Stoller, the noted architectural photographer, designed his own modern home in 1950 in collaboration with the architect Abraham Geller.  Stoller lived in this house located in Rye, New York for over 40 years.  The current lot was one of a small number of designs by Nakashima created for use in the Stoller House.
