Colour is less rose and more golden than it appears in the catalogue illustration. The ground is red wool that is completely covered with gold-colored metal thread chain stitch embroidery. The design elements are embroidered in silk chain stitch with the branches and leaf veins being in silvered and gilt metal threads; the silvered now oxidized to charcoal in colour. Very small losses and abrasions to metallic ground---not serious; scattered stains and discolourations, also not extensive or serious. Open silk satin outer border trimmed with later applied metallic lacework; all sewn to red silk backing. Good overall condition.
