Description

the eight-winged head with faceted base decorated with an openwork design of teardrops and stars surmounted by a finial in the form of an acorn clasped within a palmette mount, the silk-covered wooden haft embellished with tassles and compact springs

Condition

In overall good condition, some wear to the gilding around the head, silk covering is thin and torn in small patches, particularly at the base, the springs have lost their gilding and are rusty, as viewed.
