Catalogue Note
The use of blue and green is characteristic of Lucknow enamel wares from the eighteenth century onwards. An eighteenth-century silver-gilt pandan in the Victoria and Albert Museum that reputedly belonged to the last king of Oudh, Wajid 'Ali Shah, displays the delicate use of the blue and green palette against a silver-gilt ground, see Indian Heritage 1982, no.332.
