Description
the pear-shaped body decorated with raised palmette medallions, supported on a hexagonal petalled base with serpentine handle and 'S' shaped faceted spout, the narrow neck with ring moulding and fluted petals, terminating in a domed hinged cover with knop finial, inlaid allover in silver with scrolling vegetation and lotus blossoms

The current lot is also very similar in form to an eighteenth-century cobalt blue glass ewer in the British Museum S343 (illustrated in Indian Heritage 1982, p.125, no. 393).
