Catalogue Note
The "Tabriz Narrow-foot" style dish, as defined by Golombek, Mason and Bailey, has typically a large central medallion enclosing a fish, bird or floral design in a double- or triple-line roundel. The back of this example is more finely decorated and finished than in other examples in the Hermitage Museum, but the narrow straight foot is clearly diagnostic of the group (see Golombek, Mason and Bailey 1996, pp.224-226, pls.68-71).
