Description

of rectangular form, decorated with three large eight-pointed stars to the top in an assortment of hardwoods and inlaid-ivory with flowerheads to the spandrels, the raised border with continuous six-pointed star motif, the drop-down front panel with the royal crest of Portugal to the front complete with gilded lock-plate revealing four registers of drawers with two long at the middle top and bottom, compartments to the sides in the middle, the rest individual, all with gilded trefoil palmette handles, inlaid throughout with complex star and interlacing geometric design, the side handles of confronting dragon-head form

In excellent overall condition, with slight loss of gilding to handles at the end, as viewed.
