dye-transfer print, signed, titled, dated, and annotated by the photographer in pencil and with his Condé Nast copyright and printing information stamps on the reverse, matted, framed, 1968, printed in 1989, one of no more than 19 prints of this image in dye-transfer (Flowers, pp. 8-9; Passage, p. 177; Still Life, unpaginated)

Condition

This dye-transfer print, on double-weight paper, is in generally excellent condition. When examined in raking light, there are tiny white pinpoint deposits of indeterminate nature, possibly original retouching, visible in the lower left quadrant in the light area. In addition, there are 3 small cloth tape remains at the top front margin edge, likely from a prior mounting or matting.

Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion.
