2 photographs, Parmelian prints, comprising 'On the Heights' and Rock Formations, the first a plate from the portfolio Parmelian Prints of the High Sierras (San Francisco, 1927), each signed by the photographer in pencil in the margin and the second annotated 'Paul Shoc' by him in pencil on the reverse, matted, circa 1926, the first printed in 1927, one of a projected edition of 150 (Ansel Adams: From the Private Collection of Margaret Weston, p. 8; Autobiography, p.75; Lane Collection, pl. 14) (2)

Condition

'On the Heights,' hinged to a modern mount, is in generally excellent condition. When examined in raking light, an approximately 5-inch soft crease is visible in the upper left margin of the print near the top edge, not affecting the image. 'Rock Formations' is also in generally very good to excellent condition. There is very slight sunning in the margin for 1/2 inch around the periphery of the photograph. In the lower left margin corner, there is a very small, pale rust-colored deposit of indeterminate nature.
