Description

  • Fred Zinnemann
  • 'grand central station, new york'
warm-toned, signed, titled, numbered 'Nr. 4.' and inscribed with his '450 Lindsay Road, Santa Monica, Calif. U. S. A.' studio address by the photographer in blue ink on the reverse, matted, framed, 1932

Provenance

Acquired by the present owner from Howard Greenberg Gallery, New York, 1998

Condition

This early print, on single-weight, matte-surface paper, is in generally very good condition. There is silvering in the periphery. When examined in raking light, a 5-inch soft handling crease is visible in the lower portion of the print. On the reverse, there is a pale, rust-colored, linear deposit of indeterminate nature. This does not affect the image. The reverse is also numbered '178.4,' possibly by the photographer, in red crayon.
