Condition

Grading this albumen print on a scale of 1 to 10 - a 10 being an albumen print with deep brown dark tones and highlights that retain all of their original detail - this print rates a 9. The image's darker areas are a deep brown/black and the highlights are a mid-toned cream color. The print is essentially in excellent condition. When the print is viewed very closely in raking light, a very few faint thin scuffs can be seen on the print's surface - none of these breaks the emulsion and they are only visible upon very close examination. The mount is age darkened with some minor soiling at the top edge. There are small edge tears along the top and bottom edges, as well as a 3-inch edge tear at the bottom edge. There are small losses at the mount's lower edge and top left corner. The bottom right corner has a slightly larger loss. None of the issues pertaining to the mount endanger the print.
