Francesco Putinati incisore e medaglista, nacque a Verona nel 1775 e morì nel 1848. Fu attivo prevalentemente a Milano, dove fu nominato secondo incisore della zecca ambrosiana, affermandosi come uno dei più importanti e prolifici incisori del XIX secolo. Le sue medaglie costituiscono una galleria dei ritratti dei personaggi europei più famosi della sua epoca.
