Günther Uecker Biography

Günther Uecker (born 1930) is a German sculptor, op and installation artist. Associated with the ZERO movement, Uecker is renowned for his signature "nail" works, using nails to create dynamic, light-interactive surfaces. His creations, often characterized by kinetic and light effects, explore themes of destruction, rebirth, and transformation. Uecker's innovative approach to materials and his exploration of movement and perception have solidified his status as a significant figure in post-war European art.
