The Mysterious Banksy Captured on Camera

One of the highlights of Made in Britain (20 March, London) is a portrait by British photographer Chris Levine of the famously illusive graffiti artist Banksy.

A leading light of British photography, Levine has photographed some of the most well-known faces from around the world, including Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss and Queen Elizabeth II.

In this work, one of three by Levine included in the sale, the artist turns his lens towards the secretive Banksy. While it maintains his anonymity, the piece explores the myth of one of Britain’s most controversial and sought-after artists, and challenges the way we traditionally perceive portraiture.

Five works by Banksy will also be included in the Made in Britain sale, including the artist’s playful interpretation of Quentin Tarantino’s cult classic Pulp Fiction.

Made in Britain will take place in London on 20 March.
