Golden Globes 2019: The Jewels They Wore

By Stephanie Sporn
The 76th Golden Globes Awards was more glittering than ever. From unconventional and versatile brooches to endless amounts of Neil Lane diamonds and Lorraine Schwartz statement earrings, jewelry enjoyed a starring role on this year's red carpet. Below, discover the makers behind winning looks seen on Lady Gaga, Allison Janney, Saoirse Ronan and more.

1. Sandra Oh

Sandra Oh was not only the first person of Asian descent to host the Golden Globes, but she also was the first Asian actress to win the Globe for best leading TV actress in 39 years. Having won her first Golden Globe in 2006 for her role as Cristina Yang on Grey’s Anatomy, Oh is also the first Asian woman to win multiple Golden Globes. While she donned several looks throughout the evening, we particularly loved the old Hollywood glamour of her white Atelier Versace gown, paired with Forevermark diamond earrings.

2. Saoirse Ronan

The Irish actress wore a plunging Gucci gown featuring antique platinum-beaded sheer tulle with crystal embroideries. Adding pops of color were her popsicle-red lips and Chopard earrings, comprised of 34.88 carats of pear-shaped emeralds and 21.43 carats of cushion-cut diamonds.

3. Lady Gaga

The Golden Globe winner unsurprisingly dressed to impress in a voluminous periwinkle Valentino Haute Couture gown and bespoke Tiffany & Co. jewels. Her ‘Aurora’ necklace included over 300 pear-shaped and round brilliant diamonds. Led by its 20-carat pear-shaped diamond drop, the necklace weighs over 80 total carats.

4. Emily Blunt

The Mary Poppins actress wore a 19th-century flower hair pin, as well as an antique cut ruby and diamond ring and a pair of old mine-cut diamond earrings from a royal family, to complement her Alexander McQueen dress.

5. Kiki Layne

Chokers were one of the evening’s top jewelry trends, and Kiki Layne’s topped our list. One of the year's breakout stars, the If Beale Street Could Talk actress stunned on the red carpet in a custom blush Dior dress and Bulgari diamond necklace.

6. Camilla Belle

Camilla Belle delivered one of the Globes' most daring beauty looks and memorable ensembles. She accessorized her blue and green Jason Wu gown with earrings by Martin Katz.

7. Judith Light

Wearing a Christian Siriano dress and Sidney Garber pearls, Judith Light proved diamonds aren’t the only gem that can shine on the red carpet.

Also seen on Michael B. Jordan, the “man brooch” was alive and well on the Golden Globes red carpet. Stephan James accented his Ralph Lauren tuxedo with a Swarovski label pin and a Chopard watch and cuff links.

11. Kristen Bell

Kristen Bell was glowing in a gown from Zuhair Murad's resort 2019 ready-to-wear collection and nearly 130 carats of Harry Winston diamonds.

12. Allison Janney

Arguably the most colorful look of the night, Allison Janney looked radiant in her Christian Siriano gown, paired with David Webb's Heraldic Thorn Link Necklace and Le Vian's Passion Ruby earrings.

13. Glenn Close

Close received a standard ovation for winning Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama, and she certainly looked the part in custom Armani Privé and Cartier jewels.

14. Molly Sims

For Molly Sims, more was more in her floral Marchesa gown and statement Lorraine Schwartz earrings.

15. Constance Wu

The Crazy Rich Asians star wore custom Vera Wang and jewels by Messika, including the high jewelry 'Madeleine' choker, 'Firebird' earrings and 'My Twin Trio' ring.

16. Debra Messing

Messing paired her metallic Pamella Roland ensemble with SABBA diamond and titanium ear pendants from FD Gallery.

17. Olivia Colman

Colman won Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy for her portrayal of Queen Anne in The Favourite. The actress wore a custom black silk and diamond mesh Stella McCartney gown with jewels by David Morris.
