S ince its creation in 1895, Berluti has never ceased to challenge the boundaries of craftsmanship and reinvent the rules of style. As the legendary shoe and leather brand opens a new chapter in its history, this spring, Sotheby’s will host an exclusive online auction celebrating Berluti’s heritage and unique savoir-faire. Berluti: The Art of Craftsmanship will present an arresting selection of bespoke pieces.
The 14-lot sale will be spearheaded by a unique Porsche 911 Targa 2.4L. The interior of this legendary car is the first to be fully customised with a beautiful, patinated leather interior from Berluti. All work has been performed in France with the combined savoir-faire of Berluti’s colourists and an expert upholsterer. This one of a kind sports car comes to its new owner with a pair of driving shoes and a weekend bag, essentials for all car enthusiasts.
Other highlights include a Triumph motorcycle, four unique Hublot watches and luxury items signed by football stars Didier Drogba and Paul Pogba, as well as super-model and philanthropist Natalia Vodianova.
The bike is an exclusive creation from the Mecatwin workshop for Berluti. It is based on the mechanical foundation of a Triumph Bonneville T120. Inspired by the timeless elegance of classic biking, the bike was created as part of Berluti’s “Off the Road” collection and will be offered together with two accessories from the same line: a leather-sheathed helmet and a pair of biker boots in brown calf leather.
The watches encapsulate the powerful combination of Berluti’s bespoke expertise in leather and Hublot’s mastery of metals. Here, two bold Houses which define trends without ever betraying the rules of elegance, assert their influence on gentlemen’s fashion with originality and personality. The Classic Fusion Berluti 45 mm is a unique piece. It fuses the vibrant colour of the nero caviar patina of the Venezia Scritto with the sharp modernity of titanium and king gold.
