J ust as elite shooting has changed the NBA landscape, Sotheby’s is continuing to change the game-worn memorabilia landscape. Over the past few months, Sotheby’s exclusive partnership with the NBA has helped bring fans closer to the game than ever before, and now, we are excited to announce a new wave of Marketplace Drops that will entice NBA fans and game-worn memorabilia collectors with a next-level shopping experience.
Every two weeks into September 2024, Sotheby’s will be adding 75 new-to-market game-worn jerseys to our fixed-price Marketplace, from the brightest new NBA stars to legends of the game.
Our first drop landed on May 8th and as with subsequent sales featuring a curated selection of game-worn jerseys from some of the NBA’s best “sharp shooters”!
Marketplace Drops give fans a chance to buy from an exceptional property mix of NBA game-worn collectibles on their own schedule and at a fixed price, while enjoying the same guarantees and client services that have made the partnership between the NBA and Sotheby’s so special.
When you are ready to add to your game-worn collection, you won’t have to wait for our next NBA auction (and rest assured, we still have those coming up too) - a wide array of game-worn jerseys at every price point are simply a few taps or clicks away on the Sotheby’s Marketplace. Each drop will also have its own theme and feature household names as well as your local heroes, so be sure to check in regularly to see if your favorite player is in the next one.
The only question is, when Luka dazzles with trick shots and three-pointers from the logo, or Anthony Edwards catches fire in record-breaking fashion, or Donte Divincenzo delivers more late game heroics, will your clicks be quick enough to buy one of their jerseys?
Jerseys from these players and many more, including Stephen Curry, Kawhi Leonard, James Harden, Kevin Durant, and Devin Booker, will be available in our first drop, and there are many exciting drops to come.
