Rukmani Kumari Rathore

Rukmani Kumari Rathore joined Sotheby’s in September 2020 having previously worked as a classical Indian Art specialist at Christie’s and Bonhams and prior to that at a London-based gallery dealing in Indian miniature paintings. Ms Rathore is responsible for researching and cataloguing artworks for the biannual Arts of the Islamic World and India sales held by the Middle East department in London.

Ms Rathore received an MA degree in History of Art (South Asia, Near and Middle East), and studied Persian for a year at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. Ms Rathore is fluent in Hindi and Urdu as she grew up in India and has travelled extensively across the Indian sub-continent.
