Biography
Oana Barbu is Deputy Director in Sotheby’s Collection Sale Management team. A graduate of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne with a degree in law, she joined Sotheby’s in 2017 as a Pre-Sale Coordinator in the Furniture and Decorative Arts department, later advancing to Pre-Sale Manager within the Global Fine Arts division.
In her current role, Oana plays a pivotal part in bringing major collections to market, overseeing consignments with precision, efficiency, and care. Her expertise in logistics and consignment management ensures seamless transactions and successful outcomes for clients around the world.
Oana has contributed to landmark auctions in London and Paris, including The Collection of the Countess Mountbatten of Burma, The Silk Road, Daniel Katz: Unlocking the Vault, The Karpidas Collection, and The Manny Davidson Collection. With each single-owner sale, she combines deep operational knowledge with a refined understanding of the art market, delivering exceptional results.
