Biography

Madeline Lissner is the Executive Vice President for the Global Fine Art Division, leading Sotheby's largest division and major collections in close partnership with the company's chairmen, specialists, and department heads. She has been at Sotheby's for the last decade, previously serving as Chief Commercial Officer leading all financial dealmaking, including principal risk transactions and business management. In that role, Madeline oversaw Sotheby's most significant consignments and commercial transactions across regions and categories.

Prior to 2022, she was also Managing Director of Sotheby's Financial Services, heading the company's global art lending division and leading it to a record portfolio balance. She joined Sotheby’s in 2016 following its acquisition of the art advisory firm, Art Agency Partners, where she launched its art investment fund. Before entering the art market, Madeline worked in investment banking at Centerview Partners and Citigroup. Madeline graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Harvard University with a Bachelor of Arts in economics and art history, as well as a certificate in French. She has an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
