This June’s Contemporary Day Auction brings together a distinguished selection of post‑war and contemporary works, offering a broad and incisive view of the artistic experimentation that has shaped the past seventy years. Featuring works by leading artists such as Damien Hirst, Lisa Yuskavage, George Condo, Lucio Fontana, Annie Morris, Yoshitomo Nara, and Tracey Emin, the auction reflects the diverse formal and conceptual approaches that have defined the period. Collectively, these works offer a substantive lens through which to consider the evolving trajectories of post‑war and contemporary art, situating the auction within a wider scholarly discourse on artistic innovation and cultural transformation.

The Contemporary Day Auction will also feature a group of selected works from the Artists for Kettle’s Yard campaign. These works have generously gifted by donors to support The Jim and Helen Ede Fund Endowment Campaign ahead of Kettle’s Yard’s 70th anniversary in 2027, and all sales will directly support Kettle’s Yard and help to secure its future as a place of art, learning and inspiration for generations to come. The special group includes works by Rana Begum, Antony Gormley, Megan Rooney and Caroline Walker amongst many others; as well as renowned 20th Century Modern British artists such as Ben Nicholson and Lucie Rie. A dedicated highlights exhibition will be taking place 30 May – 8 June.
