Evelyn Lin

  • Chairman, Modern and Contemporary Art, Asia
Hong Kong

Evelyn has been at the forefront of pivotal moments in Asia’s art market. Among her achievements was spearheading the sale of Zeng Fanzhi’s The Last Supper in 2013, which realised US$23 million — a record for an Asian contemporary artwork at the time. She was also instrumental in bringing international movements such as Gutai and Dansaekhwa to Asian auctions, and she has helped galvanise the markets for a number of artists, many of whom - under her purview - have achieved record highs: Sanyu, Kim Whanki, Yayoi Kusama, and Zhang Xiaogang to name a few. Beyond this, Evelyn has been a strong advocate for expanding art historical narratives. She was the first to bring the work of Jean-Michel Basquiat and Gerhard Richter to Asian auctions.
