Biography

Emma Woodberry graduated from Dartmouth College in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and French. She subsequently earned an M.A. in Fine and Decorative Arts and Design from Sotheby’s Institute of Art, where she wrote her thesis, “Reappraising the Rococo: The Enduring Relevance of Eighteenth-Century French Painting.” During her graduate studies, she joined Sotheby’s Decorative Arts division, serving as the ceramics department's research assistant for the record-breaking Sammlung Oppenheimer sale. She joined the Old Master Paintings team in September 2022 and currently leads the cataloguing and research for all auctions and private sales in New York.
