Claire Marie joined Sotheby’s in 2023 as Luxury Handbag and Accessories Specialist, based in Dubai. She helps clients in both acquiring and selling across the Handbag market, sourcing rare pieces, and managing collections, in the rapidly growing auction and private sales markets in the Middle East and internationally
Bringing 18 years of experience in the Luxury Leather Goods industry, Claire began her career as an Artisan Saddler at Hermès Paris, before relocating to London to oversee their Leather after-sale service department at New Bond Street. During her 10-year tenure with Hermès London, Claire developed an international client portfolio and led a programme of dedicated educational workshops for cultural institutions including theRoyal Academy of Art, Saatchi Gallery, and the V&A Museum.
Following a period in France heading the project training for two other major luxury Leather Goods brands and establishing a manufacturing school, she moved to Dubai as Leather Care Specialist for Louis Vuitton before joining Sotheby’s.
A native French and fluent English speaker, Claire holds a Degree of Métiers d’Art in Contemporary Bookbinding from l’École Supérieure Estienne des Arts Appliqués et des Métiers du Livre and a certificate in Corporate Management Training.
