Sotheby's established operations in Zurich in 1969, the company's first office on the European continent. Sotheby's Zurich is currently located in the heart of the city's art scene, very close to the financial district, and features specialist departments, a saleroom, exhibition space and administrative offices. Throughout the year, we host many events, including travelling exhibitions, conferences, lectures and sale previews.

Since 1979, Sotheby's Zurich has conducted biannual sales of Swiss Art where many significant works of art have appeared. During the past three decades, our sales typically included important works by Switzerland's most celebrated artists, including Cuno Amiet, Albert Anker, Alexander Calame, Gustav Castan, François Diday, Adolf Dietrich, Giovanni and Augusto Giacometti, Ferdinand Hodler, Giovanni and Gottardo Segantini and Félix Vallotton. Sotheby's Zurich is the leading seller of Swiss Art and has established world-record prices for landscapes by Hodler, Giovanni Giacometti and Vallotton.

We are able to provide expertise in fine and decorative art and call upon the extensive knowledge of Sotheby's international specialists in all collection areas of art, jewellery, watches, books, musical instruments, antiquities and other collectibles.
