F ollowing a two-year hiatus, Sotheby's is delighted to bring Aboriginal Art back to New York this spring with a selection of exceptional works to be offered at auction on May 20th.
We are honored to be carrying on the long tradition of promoting Australian Aboriginal Art at Sotheby's, which was pioneered by our late and much-beloved consultant Tim Klingender. Following Tim's untimely passing in 2023, we are proud to now continue working with the firm he founded, Tim Klingender Fine Art, now led by his widow Skye McCardle Klingender. The consulting team at TKFA includes Wally Caruana, formerly of the National Gallery of Australia, and Geoffrey Cassidy, formerly of Sotheby's Australia.
Sotheby’s and TKFA have sourced a group of more than 50 works from Australia, Europe, and the United States, including several important private collections.
