It is rare for anyone to have an original poster signed, as the majority of signatures are on pieces of paper, photographs and video/dvd sleeves. It is unusual to have the film's poster with you when you try to obtain signatures.
This epic adventure was written and directed by Werner Herzog. The cast includes Klaus Kinski, Claudia Cardinale and José Lewgoy. Brian Sweeney Fitzgerald (Klaus Kinski), known as Fitzcarraldo, is an obsessed opera lover, who plans on building an opera house in the jungle. In order to do this, he has to first make a large sum of money in the rubber business. His plan includes accessing land in the Amazon Basin, and he is determined to transport a steamboat over a mountain to get to this area, with help from the locals. The idea for the film came from the true story of Peruvian rubber baron Carlos Fermin Fitzcarrald, who arranged for the transportation of a steamship, piece by piece, across an isthmus from one river to another.
