4 volumes, folio (411 x 260mm.), dedication to Sir Joseph Banks in volume one, 20 plain engraved plates, contemporary brown calf gilt, spines with raised bands in seven compartments, morocco labels to second and fifth compartments, marbled endpapers, morocco label becoming detached (volume 3),extremities slightly rubbed


The Gardener's and Botanist's Dictionary was a popular reference series, predominantly focusing on English horticulture. It went through numerous editions both during and after Philip Miller's lifetime.
