清光緒 粉彩百福紋大盤 《大清光緒年製》款
impressively potted, densely decorated in bright enamels with myriad bats in flight amidst stylized ruyi-head clouds, all within a gilt band at the rim, the underside similarly decorated, the base inscribed with a six-character mark in iron red

Acquired in Hong Kong between 1994 and 1995.

A similar iron-red 'hundred bats' charger, included in the exhibition Imperial Porcelain of Late Qing from the Kwan Collection, Art Gallery, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, 1983, cat. no. 139, was sold at Christie's Singapore, 30th March 1997, lot 285; and another, formerly in the collection of Birgitta and Carl Curman, was recently offered in our Hong Kong rooms, 11th July 2020, lot 3150.
