The Rolex Reference 16520 also known as the 'Zenith' Daytona, is notable as the first self-winding Daytona reference alongside References 16523 in gold and steel, and 16528 in gold.

The Zenith name comes from the automatic caliber 4030 supplied by Zenith El Primero used to power the watch. The caliber 4030 also holds the title as the last outsourced movement supplied to Rolex for their chronograph range.

Over the production run of the 16520, five generations (marks) of dials have been identified. The present lot features the penultimate example referred to as Mark IV dials. Mark IV dials are notable for the 6 at the 6 o'clock subdial being right side up, and 'T SWISS T' indicating the usage of tritium right before Rolex switched to LumiNova to lume their dials.

We are pleased to offer the present Reference 16520 in wonderful condition complete with its full suite of accessories.
