Description
Freddie Mercury's 'Headlong' video-worn sweatshirt and jeans, 1991
A bright yellow sweatshirt, the front with cream and black lettering ‘CHAMPS meeting’, with quilted arms and shoulders trimmed with grey stitching, the left sleeve with grey patch with number ‘9’ in cream, grey knitted collar and cuffs, unlabelled; and a pair of black denim jeans with green stitching, gold-tone zips to back pockets, with ‘Jun Sports’ metal tag attached to front left waistband, labelled inside ‘Jun Sports’
The 'Headlong’ video is a montage of two separate shoots: the first sequence, shot at Metropolis Studios in November 1990, features the band playing around in the studio where Freddie is seen wearing the waistcoat, shirts and ties in the previous lot; the second sequence, filmed in February 1991, features Queen ‘performing’ the song in a studio for which Freddie wears this yellow ‘Champs’ sweatshirt and black jeans.
