Original watercolour illustration produced for the 1940 series of American Weekly covers, 'Seven Tales of Arthur's Court', published, 25th February 1940. The other tales illustrated were: Arthur finding Excalibur, Tristan and Isolde (see lot 280), Morgan steals the sheath of Excalibur, Lancelot and the four Queens (see lot 282), Merlin trapped under the Rock, and Lancelot and Agravain (see lot 283)
