the rare rectangular box and cover with six legs and flush fitting cover, decorated in gold and silver foil, hiramaki-e, takamaki-e and nashiji on a black ground with scattered chrysanthemum mon among tree peony, engraved copper-gilt fittings, the interior lined in paper decorated with a geometric pattern enhanced in gold leaf
