Patek Philippe launched the reference 5940 in 2012. The yellow gold version, such as the present piece was available until 2016 totalling four years of production only. The watch was inspired by some rare pieces produced in the 1920s and 30s with cushion-shape cases known as the Tortue shape. This perpetual calendar embodies the celebrated calibre 240 automatic with micro-rotor. This present lot was produced in 2013 and has since then remained in excellent condition with all its original accessories including the Certificate of Origin, second plain case back, literature and presentation case.
