the pierced fluted circular galleried top inset with red porphyry on three pierced tapering legs with gilt lacquer rosette and foliage decoration joined by a stretcher shelf with green porphyry medallion, on a pierced rosette a rosette pierced concave triangular base on scrolling feet; signed on the side of one of the stretcher shelf scrolls HUOT FILS APARIS; the porphyry later, probably originally a lavabo with porcelain basin and ewer
